BEWARE: Halloween is for children, not pets!
Saturday October 29, 2016 - Be extra careful in making this Halloween safe for your pets!
Halloween is not such a sweet time of the year for everyone! Every year people bring veterinarians their pets for intoxications, vomiting and diarrhea and sometimes foreign bodies…mostly due to candies or sweets that dogs and sometimes cats ingest, with or without their wrappers–in small or surprisingly large quantities! Halloween decorations and ornaments (stringy spider webs, plastic spiders and fake rats…) are also frequent culprits, especially for cats and puppies. But let’s not forget the risk of escapes and attacks because of worrisome and sometimes terrifying costumes and decorations for our four-legged companions! Halloween can quickly become a nightmare for both pets and owners!
Be extra careful with your pets during the Halloween season. Avoid dangling decorations that can attract your kitten, and keep bowls of candy away from temptation from our greedy canine friends. Watch your pets closely around ornaments, and keep them on leash or in a secure room on that festive night.
Make Halloween happy and safe for ALL!
